It is a good idea to give the baby a lower cabinet in the kitchen. This way they can feel like they are helping. This is Houston baby proofing myth #5 in a series of myth busting.
We hear this a comment a lot and our philosophy is to create boundaries for your child. When you give a child a cabinet in the kitchen, they are going to pull all of the stuff out and not put it away. At a minimum, you will have to pick up the items and re-wash them if you want to use them. Worst case scenario is that now that you have trip hazards in your kitchen, you might go from stove top (HOT) to the sink to drain cooked pasta (BOILING). Disaster is about to strike!
