- Oven mitts and/or insulated potholders can protect your hands from cookware going in and out of the oven as well has pots/pans and their lids.
- Disposable gloves can be used as a precaution for handling spicy foods such as hot peppers. If hand/fingernail washing fails when not wearing gloves, you could have a bad experience when you touch your eyes, nose or even genitals. Yikerz!
- When you have something cooking on the stove top, you need to supervise the area. This is especially important with small children in the home.
- Never leave anything like dish towels or potholders on the stove top in case a burner is accidentally turned on by a human or a pet. This could start a fire.
