6 KITCHEN SAFETY TIPS

OUR BABY PROOFING KITCHEN PHILOSOPHY

The philosophy at Infant House baby proofing company is to treat your kitchen as a workshop and use personal protective equipment when applicable.  Have you ever seen a metal shop, a wood shop, a restaurant kitchen, or a mechanics shop where they work barefoot? Well of course not!

These 6 kitchen safety tips could reduce injuries to your family.

6 Kitchen Safety Tips

  1. Yes, we recommend that you always wear closed toe shoes when cooking. Shoes protect your feet from any debris on the floor, dropped knives and from spilled hot liquids.
  2. An apron does not always need to be a fashion statement. It has a practical use to keep hot liquid spills at bay and protect your clothing.
  3. Oven mitts and/or insulated potholders can protect your hands from cookware going in and out of the oven as well has pots/pans and their lids.
  4. Disposable gloves can be used as a precaution for handling spicy foods such as hot peppers. If hand/fingernail washing fails when not wearing gloves, you could have a bad experience when you touch your eyes, nose or even genitals. Yikerz!
  5. When you have something cooking on the stove top, you need to supervise the area. This is especially important with small children in the home.
  6. Never leave anything like dish towels or potholders on the stove top in case a burner is accidentally turned on by a human or a pet. This could start a fire.

If you follow these 6 kitchen safety tips for the whole family, you can reduce the chances of injury in your home.
