International Association for Child Safety

The International Association for Child Safety (IAFCS) is a network of child safety professionals.  As experts in their field, IAFCS members have the unique experience, knowledge, and skills to help make your home a safe place for your little ones.

Infant House is an active member of the IAFCS.  Because of this, we have the ability to collaborate with other childproofing experts concerning:  iafcs

-Best child safety practices

-New products

-Raising the awareness about baby proofing companies

Best Child Safety Practices

After careful consideration, the IAFCS has crafted a set of guidelines.  These represent the most prudent course of action to deliver quality service to the public.  Some of the guidelines exceed manufacturer instructions.  Furthermore, because not every situation we encounter is “routine”, the guidelines are fluid as the industry evolves. This in turn, helps us raise and maintain the standards of our profession.

New Products

Infant House has attended several of the IAFCS conferences.  The new child safety products portion is most interesting.  Child safety vendors, many of them are members of the association, attend the conferences to share their new products and demonstrations with the attendees.  Opinions are shared, both pros and cons.  At that point we can have a very helpful, spirited debate on the merits of a particular product. Finally, a decision can be made by each independent child safety company as far as adding a particular item to their mix.

Raising the awareness of Baby Proofing Companies

In our industry, the biggest hurdle we face is awareness.  Most parents are aware of some potential childhood injuries; however, most are not aware that professional help is available.  With the association members working together and partnering with other organizations, we hope to make a bigger impact on reducing unintentional injuries in the home.

In conclusion, every parent should call a professional baby proofing company to evaluate their home for child safety.  Look for one that will take the time to walk room by room with you.  One that will also explain the hazards and solutions for your unique situation.  Then you can make an informed decision to address the hazards in your home and have safety for baby and peace of mind for you.
